Description: Founded in December 2020, Cider Security is the first platform that allows Security, DevOps, and Dev teams to build AppSec programs in minutes while allowing them to orchestrate and harmonize all security activities in a CI/CD (continuous integration / continuous deployment) environment from a single place.
Before we started the company, we discussed finance with friends and colleagues who had built startups before – their unanimous advice was to engage with Nextage. When we met with Etti Hanochi, we got on so well and felt so comfortable with her expertise and experience we hired Nextage on the spot – you could say it was “love at first sight!” So the Nextage team became part of our journey from day 1 (or more accurately, from day minus 1).
Right out of the gate, we launched with a $6 million seed round followed later by a $32 million A round, and we were recently acquired by Palo Alto Networks (the Nasdaq-listed global cybersecurity giant) in December 2022. Such transactions can be very challenging and need to be done right. Having Nextage on our team gave us the depth of experience and market knowledge we needed for these transactions and we were able to navigate them without putting a foot wrong.
Nextage is a platform – they can provide everything a CEO needs. While there are many professionals in the market who can provide individual financial services, we have particularly enjoyed Nextage’s holistic approach. That Nextage can provide a comprehensive financial service from top to bottom significantly reduces the friction and pains that startups go through. For us, Nextage worked on everything from budgeting, pricing model, payroll to our financings and ultimately our acquisition by Palo Alto Networks.
